Musanze

Musanze town sits about two hours from Kigali by road. Gorilla treks start early from the park headquarters in Kinigi, so most guests stay in Kinigi or Musanze the night before.

Permits sell out months ahead in the dry seasons (June to September and December to February). Bring layers and rain gear: the forest is cool and wet even when the town is warm. Twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo make an easy half-day trip.
