Huye

Mji wa chuo kikuu wa Rwanda, wenye Makumbusho ya Kiethnografia na mji mkuu wa kale wa kifalme wa Nyanza karibu.

Huye (formerly Butare) is about two and a half hours south of Kigali and makes a good stop on the way to Nyungwe.

The Ethnographic Museum is one of the best in East Africa. Half an hour north, the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza shows a reconstructed royal residence and the long-horned Inyambo cattle.
