Kuhusu Akagera
Akagera National Park is about two and a half hours east of Kigali. A day trip is possible, but staying a night inside or near the park gives you the early-morning and evening drives when animals are most active.
A boat trip on Lake Ihema brings you close to hippos, crocodiles and water birds. Self-drive is allowed with a 4x4; a park guide in your vehicle helps you find lions and rhinos.
